It could have been me. My birthday is 4/27/1942. Whenever I see you, I think that it could have been me. You would come to our table every time we were at the restaurant, I saw you at the Lyric and you waved at me from down front, you would be at Unity on Thome and I thought, what an amazing woman--it could have been me.

Thanks for sharing this. As you know, my father had polio as a child so he was held back one grade at his Hyde Park schools. He never shared the challenges or his feelings about having a deformed leg. You are so courageous and helpful to enlighten the people who care about people with polio.
